18 Oct 1839 Promoted Surgeon 19th (1st Yorkshire, North Riding) Regiment of Foot, vice Surgeon John Wyer, who retired to half-pay.
5 Oct 1840 Arrived from England on board Vanguard.
22 June–2 July 1841 In Sicily on leave.
13 Sep 1841–31 Mar 1842 On leave.
20 Nov 1842 Returned to England.
30 May 1843 Appointed Surgeon 13th Light Dragoons, on the retirement of Surgeon David Perston to half-pay.
