5 Oct 1858 Appointed Assistant Surgeon 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment vice Assistant Surgeon William John Dauney who died on 2 July 1858, while on the Expedition to North China (Second Opium War).

22 Apr 1862 Exchanged with Staff Assistant Surgeon John Warren.

Malta 5 Nov 1863 Arrived from England.

Malta 1864 Arrived from England.

Malta 11 Dec 1865 In charge of Forrest Hospital during the cholera epidemic of July–November 1865.
Returned to England.

26 June 1867 Assistant Surgeon 2nd/3rd (East Kent-The Buffs) Regiment of Foot.

9 Feb 1870 Appointed Staff Assistant Surgeon by exchange.

1871–1874 On duty with the Army Service Corps at Aldershot.

22 Nov 1877 Restored to full-pay and posted to Portsmouth.

1878 On duty in Haslar.

1879 On duty in Fort Nelson, Hampshire.

28 Aug 1879 Retired having completed 20 years' full pay service.

14 June 1881 Died in Savoy following an accident, aged 52 years.
