Service Record

10 Oct 1813 Appointed Hospital Mate.

1815 Served in Guadalupe.

22 Feb 1816 Hospital Assistant.

17 Apr 1817 Assistant Surgeon Royal York Rangers.

1819 Placed on half-pay following the disbandment of the regiment.

25 June 1820 Staff Assistant Surgeon.

1831 Staff Assistant Surgeon Corfu.

30 Dec 1834 Aged 48 years. Promoted surgeon after 22 years service. Had served between 21 and 22 years on full pay before gaining promotion.

Promoted surgeon 92nd (Highland) Regiment vice Surgeon John Harding Walker, who retired upon half-pay. The vacancy on the Staff was filled by the commissioning of Gentleman Archibald Alexander on 20 Feb 1835.

16 Jan 1836 Arrived from Gibraltar. On duty with the Service Companies since 17 Apr 1835.

9 June – 11 Oct 1837 Cholera epidemic in Malta.

1837 Surgeon the 92nd Foot.

18 May 1838 On leave till 17 Feb 1839 on urgent private affairs..

17 Feb 1839 Returned from leave.

1840 Surgeon 92nd Foot.

21 Jan 1841 Left for the West Indies.

14 July 1843 Promoted Staff Surgeon of the 1st Class, vice Staff Surgeon Abraham Armstrong who retired upon half-pay. The vacancy in 92nd Foot was filled by Staff Surgeon of the 2nd Class Thomas Foss. Assistant Surgeon William Robertson 12th Foot, became Staff Surgeon of the 2nd Class vice Foss.

18 Sep 1846 Retired to half-pay.
