3 Jan 1900 Surgeon-Captain Royal Malta Artillery. Was granted the temporary rank of captain while serving in Egypt.

6 Jan 1900 Served in Egypt with No 5 Company Royal Malta Artillery. The RMA manned the coast defences of Alexandria against a possible threat from the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

1901 Served in Egypt for five years with No 5 Company Royal Malta Artillery until 1904.

1902 Served in Egypt with the rank of captain.

Owing to the prevailing war conditions, he was retained on the active list under the provisions of Articles 120 and 522 Royal Warrant for Pay and Promotion. He served until 1919, beyond his retiring age of 55 years.1

Mar 1917 Surgeon-Major A E Mifsud, was brought to the notice of the Secretary of State for War for valuable services rendered in connection with the war.2
Attached to HQ Coy Royal Malta Artillery, which in turn was attached to No 2 Coy RMA.

1 June 1919 Placed on retired pay.
