24 Nov 1848 Surgeon 49th (Hertfordshire-The Prince of Wales's) Regiment.
Malta 2 Apr 1853 Arrived from Corfu.
Malta 20 June 1853 Returned to England on leave for the recovery of his health.
Malta 18 Feb 1854 Returned from leave in England.
Malta 11 Apr 1854 Left for Turkey. Served in the Crimean War.
Malta 1856 On duty as Surgeon 49th Foot.
8 Jan 1856 Staff Surgeon 1st Class.
15 Sept 1856 Reduced to half-pay after completing 2 yrs 9 mths duty with the service companies.
2 Mar 1858 Awarded by the Sultan the Imperial Order of the Medjidie (5th Class) for his distinguished services before the enemy during the war against Russia.
12 Apr 1858 Restored to full-pay as Staff Surgeon 1st Class and attached to 23rd Foot.
20 Apr 1860 Retired.
