25 Apr 1854 Left for Turkey on the steamer Emue.

11 Oct 1854 Censured by Lord Raglan for allegedly failing to make arrangements to receive casualties at Balaclava prior to their embarkation for Scutari.

1857 In charge of the surgical division at Fort Pitt. Served in the suppression of the Indian Mutiny.

2 Mar 1858 Awarded by the Sultan the Imperial Order of the Medjidie (5th Class) for his distinguished services before the enemy during the war against Russia.

31 Dec 1858 Deputy Inspector General vice Humfrey.

10 July 1862 Died during a sea passage from Calcutta to England.
