28 Dec 1908 Part of a relief party sent to Sicily following an earthquake in Calabria on 28 Dec 1908. He was praised for his efforts and received the decoration of the Crown of Italy for aid rendered to the victims of the Messina disaster.

Surgeon Captain Robert Randon RMA was awarded a diploma and silver medal of the Italian Red Cross at the Palace Valletta for his role in the relief of the earthquake victims at Messina on 28 Dec 1908.

Malta 31 July 1914 Moved to Fort Mosta to take medical charge of Movable Armoured Battery. The sick from Fort Mosta were referred to Forrest Hospital.

Malta 18 Feb 1915 Proceeded from Valletta Hospital to Ghajn Tuffieha for duty at the Musketry Camp. In medical charge of 3rd Reserve Bn Royal Fusiliers.
