10 Feb 1854 Assistant Surgeon 50th (The Queen's Own) Regiment of Foot.

Malta 24 Feb 1854 Arrived from England.

Malta 6 Apr 1854 Left for Turkey and the Crimea. Was present at the Battles of Alma and Inkerman and the siege and fall of Sebastopol. Lost several toes from frost bite for which he was granted an annual pension of 70 for in-service injuries.

Malta 1856. Assistant Surgeon 50th Foot.
on duty with his regiment.

14 June 1859 Exchanged with Assistant Surgeon Joseph Johnston Ceylon Rifle Regiment.

19 Mar 1861 Exchanged with Staff Assistant Surgeon White.

17 Nov 1863 Promoted Surgeon 2nd (Queen's Royal) Regiment of Foot vice Surgeon Francis Lewis FitzGerald appointed to the Staff vice Staff Surgeon William Stewart, who was appointed to the 18th Foot vice John Alexander Fraser promoted on the Staff. Assistant Surgeon Richard William Berkeley was recalled from half-pay 23rd Foot and promoted Surgeon 2nd Foot vice Noott.

20 June 1865 Surgeon 108th (Madras Infantry) Regiment of Foot.

13 Feb 1866 Reduced to half-pay.
