Malta 23 Feb 1883 Returned from Egypt, en route to Gibraltar where he arrived on 2 Mar 1883.

Malta 7 Mar 1883 Returned to Malta.

31 Mar 1883 Returned to England.

1885 Served in the Sudan.

3 Feb 1890 Surgeon-Major.

1895 On the Chitral Expedition.
Was granted the India Medal 1895 with clasp for the Relief of Chitral.

3 Feb 1898 Was promoted Surgeon-Lieutenant Colonel on completion of twenty years service.

1898 Served in the Sudan. Was granted the Sudan Medal 1898 by the Khedive.

Mentioned in Despatches during the operation in the Sudan and the subsequent Battle of Omdurman where he distinguished himself.

23 Nov 1898 Retired.
