Took LRCPI and LM and LRCSI in 1885. He took the MB Dublin in 1893, and the DPH Dublin in 1906.

28 July 1886 Commissioned Surgeon Army Medical Staff.

Malta 6 Aug 1887 Arrived from Dublin.

Malta 7 Sept 1888 Home leave.

Malta 22 Nov 1888 Returned to Malta.

Malta 9 July 1889 Embarked for Egypt.

28 July 1898 Major RAMC.

11 Oct 1899–31 May 1902 Anglo–Boer War.

1899 – 1902 Served in South Africa. He took part in the operations in the Transvaal, Orange River Colony and Cape Colony.

28 July 1906 Lieutenant Colonel RAMC.

28 July 1914 Start of the Great War.

4 Aug 1914 Britain declares war on Germany.

1914 - 1919 Served in Egypt with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force throughout the war of 1914 - 1919.

1 Mar 1915 Colonel L/RAMC.

15 Sept 1919 Retired.

1921 - 1929 Secretary RAMC Fund and Officer's Benevolent Society.
