28 Oct 1798 Hospital Mate.

1799 Served in Holland.

9 May 1800 Assistant Surgeon 92nd (Highland) Regiment of Foot.

27 May 1800–Jan 1802 Served at Minorca, Malta, and Abercrombie's expedition to Egypt (1801).

9 July 1803 Surgeon 14th (Bedfordshire) Battalion of Reserve.

25 Mar 1805 Surgeon 79th (Cameron Highlanders) Regiment of Foot.

1808 Served in the Peninsular War (1808-14).

17 Aug 1809 Staff Surgeon. Served at Walcheren.

26 May 1814 Deputy Inspector of Hospitals.

1815 Served at Waterloo. Was attached to the HQs of the Duke of Wellington as his private physician.

3 Dec 1818 Placed on half-pay with rank of Inspector of Hospitals.

27 Apr 1820 Returned to full-pay.

Malta 19 June 1820 Arrived at Malta vice Deputy Inspector of Hospitals John Warren.

20 Dec 1820 Left Malta on sick leave.

Malta June 1821 Sick leave expired.

Malta Nov 1821 Placed on half-pay and struck off the strength of the garrison.

1835–1845 Examining physician to the Hon East India Company.

1836 Appointed one of HM Commissioners in Lunacy.
