1795 Hospital Mate. Johnson's roll gives his name as Robert. It appears as William in the regimental pay list.
18 Nov 1795 Surgeon 4th West India Regiment.
5 Aug 1796 Surgeon 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Foot.
Nov 1800 Arrived with his regiment as part of Sir Ralph Abercrombie's Expedition to Egypt.
14 June 1801 Died at the General Hospital Rosetta from plague. Plague broke out at Alexandria in May 1801. Surgeon Allen died of the disease and cases were isolated, but the disease spread to Rosetta.
