12 Sept 1840 Assistant Surgeon 19th (1st Yorkshire, North Riding) Regiment of Foot.
Malta 5 Oct 1840 Arrived from England on the Rodney.
Malta 1841 On duty with his regiment.
Malta 21 Dec 1842 Proceeded to England on the "Rhadamanthus" in charge of invalids.
20 Jan 1843 Died suddenly in London. On 3 Feb 1843, Gentleman Thomas Longmore was commissioned Assistant Surgeon 19th Foot vice Coghlan, deceased. In 1860, Longmore became Professor of Military Surgery at the Army Medical School at Fort Pitt Chatham.
