Malta 2 Nov 1842 The death of Assistant Surgeon Camilleri RMFR on 2 November led the Governor to recommend as his successor Dr Ludovigo Bernard, aged 28 years,
a Maltese gentleman who has served as a 1st Assistant Surgeon in the Civil Hospital for five years and bears a high character in his profession.1
