21 Dec 1832 Gazetted Staff Assistant Surgeon vice Staff Assistant Surgeon George Kincaid Pitcairn MD who was promoted assistant surgeon 58th Foot on the death at Kandy of assistant surgeon Wilton Toulmin 58th Foot.

12 Apr 1833 Assistant Surgeon 68th (Durham Light Infantry) Regiment.

6 June 1834 Staff Assistant Surgeon by exchange.

11 Sept 1840 Assistant Surgeon 38th (1st Staffordshire) Regiment of Foot.

1 Mar 1844 Staff Surgeon 2nd Class.

Malta 2 May 1844 Arrived from Gibraltar.

Malta 1845 On garrison duty.

Malta 1846 Staff Surgeon 2nd Class.

Malta May 1847 Involved in a joint consultation with Staff Surgeon 1st Class James Barry and assistant surgeon Charles Dawson 42nd Regiment, when the Governor and Garrison Commander Sir Patrick Stuart contracted dysentery.

Malta 1848 On garrison duty during the cholera outbreak at Malta.

Malta 12 May 1849 Left Malta to take up the appointment of PMO General Hospital Dublin. On 31 Oct, the Malta Mail remarked that: "He became endeared to so many in Malta by the amiability of his character and the unobtrusive conduct which distinguished him during his residence in Malta. On 11 Oct 1850, he died in Dublin, aged 41 years, leaving behind a widow and a young family of five children, the youngest since a month old".1
