Took the MB (Dublin) in 1914, and the DPH (Belfast) in 1925.

15 Oct 1914 Special Reserve Commission Lieutenant RAMC.

18 Oct 1914 Mobilised.

18 Apr 1915 Captain RAMC.

3 July 1915 – 2 July 1916 Served in France and Belgium.

1916 Wounded in action.

1917–1922 Served in India.

30 June 1917–3 Apr 1918 Acting Lieutenant Colonel RAMC.

1919 Served on the North West Frontier British India. He took part in the third Afghan War in 1919.

1 Apr 1919 Permanent Regular Army Commission Captain RAMC.

1919–1921 Served in Wazirstan.

29 Sep 1922 Arrived from England.

5 Nov 1922 Home Leave.

2 Dec 1922 Returned from leave.

18 May 1923 Left for Constantinople.

May–Sep 1923 Served in Constantinople.

24 Dec 1924 Retired with the rank of Lt Col, receiving a gratuity. Rejoined 2 Sept 1939.

1939–1940 Served with the British Expeditionary Force France.

1939–1944 Senior Medical Officer Hospital Carrier St Julien.

15 Mar 1944 Died at sea on the Hospital Carrier St Julien. Lies buried at Bari War Cemetery.
