1970–1975 Consultant Advisor in obstetrics and gynaecology to the Ministry of Defence with the rank of Brigadier. Was responsible for the army's obstetrics and gynaecological services world wide.

Commandant and Postgraduate Dean at the Royal Army Medical College Millbank.

1977 Retired with the rank of Major-General.

27 Dec 1983 Died at Plymouth after a long illness.
