29 Jan 1894 Surgeon on probation appointed as Surgeon-Lieutenant.

29 Jan 1897 Surgeon-Captain.

1897–1898 Served with No 1 British General Hospital during the Tirah Expedition to safeguard the Kyber Pass and suppress the Afridis tribe who had captured the pass.

26 July 1904 Married Gladys Dolbey, elder daughter of Barrister T H Dolbey of 54 Queensborough Terrace Hyde Park, and 4 Essex Court Temple, at Christ Church Lancaster Gate, by Rev P R Mitchell, Chaplin to the Forces Bulford.

Apr 1905 Arrived from Bulford.

June 1905 In charge of officers, women, and children, military prison and army medical stores.

29 July 1905 Major RAMC.

July–Dec 1905 Officer in charge Military Hospital Fort Chambray Gozo.

Jan 1906 Officer in charge Military Hospital Fort Chambray Gozo.

May 1906 Officer in charge troops, women and children Tigne, Manoel and Sliema District.
