29 July 1914 Wired at Care of Mess. Westward London Region to rejoin his unit in Malta from leave immediately.

Aldershot 8 Oct 1914 Appointed to command 8 officers and 86 men of 14 Stationary Hospital. The officers were Captain John Kennedy Gaunt Lt R M Allan, Lt Lanagan, Lt Lilliand, Lt Joynt, Lt Le Mesurier and Lt (QM) Powell. Captain Davis Colley, Surgical Specialist, joined them on 2nd November at Boulogne. On 9 October, embarked at Southampton on SS Palm Branch. Arrived at Ostend on 11 October and proceeded to Boulogne.

22 Oct 1914 Set up 14 Stationary Hospital of 200 beds at the Grand Hotel Wimereux Boulogne.

18 Feb 1915 Awarded the Companion Distinguished Service Order.

1 Mar 1915 Lieutenant Colonel.

1918 Commanding Officer 72 General Hospital Trouville Normandy.

Malta 4 Sept 1923 Arrived from England.

Malta 4 Sept 1924 Home leave.

3 Nov 1924 Returned to Malta.

Malta 15 Sept 1925 Home leave.

14 Nov 1925 Returned to Malta.

Malta Feb 1926 Chairman of the newly launched Malta Branch of the RAMC Association, and Commanding Officer Mtarfa Military Hospital.
